What is HIFU?
HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. ULTRAcel Q+ reaches deep skin tissues for a naturally wound healing response to lift and tighten , this is a great option for clients who do not wish to have injectables or surgery and absolutely no downtime and being a very tolerable treatment, it has fast become the go-to treatment for a natural lift.
Ultrasound therapy (HIFU) shoots ultrasound waves into the skin, where they act by heating targeted tissue, by heating this area of skin upto 65 degrees this results in a tightening of the SMAS and stimulating the body’s natural collagen production. The SMAS layer is the same muscle in which surgeons tighten during a surgical facelift. While there is a noticeable instant tightening, once the body starts producing collagen, the skin tightens and firms significantly.
Additionally, Cynosure ULTRAcelQ+ offers many cartridge depths to treat each client individually and tailor their results. Cartridge depths we use: 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 3.0mm and 4.5mm, 6mm, 9mm, 11mm, 13mm. A consultation is always recommended before treatment to discuss main area of concern and target a treatment that will suit your desired outcome.
HOW SOON DO YOU SEE RESULTS?
Generally the skin will begin to look smoother and tighter after the first treatment, some clients receive an instant lift however 2 sessions are required for best results. The results from the treatment will continue to improve for up to six months, as the collagen continues to regenerate. Using active ingredient skin care will help with longevity to treatments. Results do vary from each individual and depending on the original condition of the skin and deeper tissue, ability to produce healthy collagen ect and degree and cause of damage.
Is it painful?
The Cynosure ULTRAcel Q+ system is a state-of-the-art HIFU device and is much more comfortable than the original systems. The treatment is very tolerable, for some clients who are concerned pain relief can be taken prior but is not necessary. The energy can be manipulated to suit clients needs ect.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Most treatments average at 45minutes, once again this would be discussed in the consultation prior to treatment.
When can I return to work and the gym?
You can return to work immediately after treatment, you may have a slight pinkness in the skin, makeup is fine the next day, we recommend no gym for 24 hours post treatment , however overall minimal to No downtime treatment.
